May has been a wonderful month of weddings for me and lovely to return to a venue I adore – The Great Barn in Devon – for the wedding of Jo and Chris. I met Jo 7 years ago at her Sister Sarah’s wedding. Jo is one of 3 beautiful sisters and I remember hoping I might meet the family again as I was so struck by how warm and gentle they all were. As you can imagine I was delighted when Jo got in touch about my wedding photography.
Hopefully you can see from the photos just what a perfect day it was and how beautiful Jo looked. There were so many highlights of the day for me so I shall name my top three. The first would be the gardens at the Great Barn, they are planted for year round interest so they never disappoint but May with all the pop of new green leaves and the wisteria in full bloom made for some gorgeous back drops and with the Sun setting in the far corner of the garden we had to be quick to get some evening light. Jo and Chris were so accommodating that they didn’t mind my crazed bleating (throughout the day) about how beautiful the light was. My second favourite moment was Chris’s speech, it was so romantic, funny and thoughtful. Finally Jo’s dad Sang and played guitar for the first dance, he had even made a giant J and C which lit up – top dad!
So once more another beautiful wedding which was a real privilege to be a part of. Thank you Jo and Chris for getting in touch and asking me to capture your day. Have a wonderful life together as husband and wife.
