Back in August I photographed the wedding of Aymee and Arron at Clovelly Church. I had been looking forward to this wedding for sometime because I knew it would be a very relaxed event with plenty of love and laughter. I had also been excited as I had been promised a horse to photograph and had started to imagine the photo opportunities of beautiful Aymee riding a thoroughbred through some sunlit fields etc…….okay…so in the end the only available steed that day was Cracker the miniature pony but I was still completely over the moon on meeting him. Cracker was the first pony Aymee ever rode as a little girl and he was a real character, completely unimpressed by all the fuss and just waiting for the jackpot of hay as payment for his services.
Aymee and Arron had personally worked so hard to create the perfect wedding day and ensure that everyone had a fantastic time. I asked Aymee to explain a bit about the work that had gone into their day.
It was this effort and determination from the couple that really impressed me, all day Aymee was stopping to comment on how happy she felt and it really was a wedding with so much heart. I myself was beaming from ear to ear. Usually towards the last couple of hours of a wedding I can feel quite tired but with this one I was just buzzing, loving the views, the light and all the banter amongst friends. The highlights of the day for me would have to be sneaking into Clovelly Court Gardens and seeing the flowers and views of the sea. Oh and of course Cracker…..and Aymee was just so radiant and beautiful all day. I asked Aymee what her best bit was….
“We loved and relished in every single tiny moment! But I would say the best thing about the day was seeing all our hard work come together and standing back to see all our very favourite people enjoying the party we put on 😊 Also, when my little brother (who’s 8) and his mate Rory (also 8) played guitar and sang in church. Arron and I often look after Wills and it made us both cry to see him being so brave and grown up in front of all those people!”
So Aymee and Arron, thank you so much for choosing me to capture your day and I wish you every possible happiness for the future.
