A little while ago I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Simon and Ria at Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall. I hadn’t worked at Nancarrow Farm before so I made a visit before the wedding to scope it out. I have to say I was blown away by how beautiful the setting and the Wedding buildings are. Occasionally you come across a new wedding venue that takes your breath away and Nancarrow was one such venue. Still a working farm, the area set out for weddings was once a group of disused barns that have been lovingly restored using all reclaimed materials. Uniquely, Nancarrow Farm has it’s own team of catering staff and their brilliant Chef uses all the meat reared at the farm for the wedding feast.
I didn’t meet with Simon and Ria before the wedding as they are living out in Australia but we Skyped and I knew instantly that I would love spending time with them. The Sun shone all day bathing the late afternoon in my favourite warm spring light. With Simon getting ready at Nancarrow Farm along with Ria, it was great to be able to flit between as they got ready. Ria looked so, so beautiful and her dress was perfect for her. Ria’s mum made all the bunting hung in the barn and even took a floristry course so she could do all the flowers for the wedding.
Simon and Ria’s was a very romantic wedding and one I certainly won’t forget. There is so much I could say about the day but hopefully the pictures below describe it perfectly. The highlight for me was the during the evening reception, which started with Simon accompanying the band to the couples’ favourite Ben Howard song. As the song came to an close Simon rushed over to Ria and literally swept her off her feet for the first dance. It was all so exciting and romantic I could hardly keep my camera still.
